Le Navi Park, the water bearer of Cattolica...
The water bearer of Cattolica is situated in a building dating back to 1934, a former marine colony characterized by a futurist architecture which reminds a dynamic fleet. The building, situated along the sea front of Cattolica, is surrounded by a green public park provided with relaxation areas and games for children.
To visit Le Navi Park will be a fascinating, absorbing and educational opportunity to discover the secrets of the underwater world. Thanks to the support provided by expert guides and state-of-the-art multimedia technologies, the journey through the underwater world will be interesting and captivating for both adults and children.
The complete itinerary allows to discover more than 3000 specimen which belong to 400 species. The tanks of the so-called Acquapolis area re-create the different marine habitats of our planet, from the Mediterranean Sea to the oceans passing through the reef of the Red Sea with its curious inhabitants.
The area called Geopolis goes over the evolutionary process of our planet through informative panels and short clips and hosts the so-called dying "living fossils" (such as nautilus, horseshoe crab and protopterus). Here is the large shark tank too, a wonderful round water bearer which hosts 50 specimen belonging to 13 different species.
A whole pavilion is dedicated to Poisons, a collection of both minerals, vegetables and animals which produce the most dangerous poisons in the world. Among the latest exhibitions to be introduced in the water bearer is the one dedicated to The sounds of the sea, a collection of whispers, cries and calls by sea inhabitants. In this area it is also possible to listen to the interesting music projects by the composer Andrea Centazzo, who sampled and coordinated the sounds of the sea in a real 5-minute-long symphony. |
