Further sports

The Adriatic Coast offers a wide range of exciting sport opportunities; moreover a lot of champions of both present and past were born there or play in the local teams. One of the reasons why sport is so popular is that the Emilia Romagna region boasts a not homogeneous territory where coast and mountains coexist and natural landscapes are beautiful and varied.

Horse-riding
It is a widespread sport both in the coastal areas surrounding the Natural Park of the Po Delta and in the hinterland and the mountain areas. The territory is rich in riding grounds and schools which give tourists the possibility to discover interesting itineraries under the supervision of expert guides.

Motor vehicles
Not to be missed is the great passion for cars, motorcycles and go karts evidenced by the numerous circuits Romagna hosts. The world circuit of Santa Monica in Misano Adriatico gives the lovers of motor vehicles the possibility to experience the emotion to drive along the same circuit where world champions compete. Many important personalities belonging to the world of both car and motor races were born there and the most renowned car and bike manufacturers are situated in the Emilia Romagna region, such as Ducati in Borgo Panigale and Ferrari in Maranello.

Parachuting
People who want to experience parachuting can take part in the lessons organized by different centres situated along the Riviera, from Rimini to Ravenna. The full-immersion courses arranged by the parachuting schools of the Adriatic Coast allow to try parachuting after a weekend spent taking lessons. The course is not compulsory if people choose to try it tandem: they can experience the outstanding emotion to fly at a speed of more than 200 km per hour together with a skilled trainer.

Hang-gliding and ultralights
There are many courses dedicated to hand-gliding and ultralights. The schools of the Adriatic Coast organize courses for beginners and special lessons to achieve the pilot's licence. Two important centres to hire equipment are Lido di Classe and Rimini, while the top of the Apennines overlooking the Riviera is the ideal starting point for both hang-gliders and paragliders.
