The ancient fishing harbour designed by Leonardo da Vinci in 1502 is the heart of the city centre of this lively seaside resort. The fishing tradition still survives and livens up the city, beyond providing fresh fish to the numerous restaurants overlooking the harbour. The Museo della Marineria (Seafaring Museum) attracts seafaring people, sea lovers and curious people with a unique collection of ancient ships, finds and documents dating back to the prehistory of navigation.
Cesenatico develops along the 7-kilometre-long coast, between Viale Carducci and the sandy coast hosting Zadina, Valverde and Villamarina. The welcoming beach, provided with a fine and gold sand and shallow waters, attracts families looking for high-quality accommodation facilities.
Numerous guesthouses and inns are situated a short distance from the beach, and so are the restaurants and clubs which during summer attract large numbers of young people flocking to the Adriatic Coast.
Apart from spending holidays based on sun, sea and relax, guests can also enjoy cycle excursions, play sport on the beach, visit the glamorous clubs and discos situated along the sea front or take part in cultural events based on music, art and literature. |

Not to be missed...
The visit of the native house of Marino Moretti, a renowned poet from Cesenatico who dedicated it unforgettable poems. Today his house hosts a library, cherishes the manuscripts and letters of the poet and is the seat of a research centre on Italian literature.

The Crib of the Seafaring Museum, mounted at Christmas on the boats of the floating Seafaring Museum, which is provided with full-scale statues and surrounded by the fascinating scenery of the winter sea.
The traditional food and wine festivals, grilled fish on the beach and other fish specialities cooked on the occasion of festivals such as "Il pesce fa festa" (The fish festival) and "Azzurro come il pesce" (Light blue like fish).
